Planning precedent report

For the following development: The extension of the existing burial ground at Illaunamanagh, Tullyvarraga, Shannon, comprising of the removal of the existing allotments, the construction of the new burial ground area, the construction of a columbarium and all ancillary site works. The ancillary site works include alterations to existing ground levels to accommodate the development, the inclusion of vehicular and pedestrian access routes, an enclosed maintenance / storage area, site boundary treatments and landscaping works. In accordance with the Habitats Directive, Appropriate Assessment Screening has been carried out on the project. An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA ) screening determination has been made and concludes that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development. Any person may, within 4 weeks from the date of notice, apply to An Bord Pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment and an EIA is not required.

To relocate the existing temporary 'Polytunnel' structure to a new location within the site for a period of 5 years along with associated site works. The works are to take place within the curtilage of a protected structure (RPS No 664)

To RETAIN existing "Polytunnel" greenhouse structure within the curtilage of Protected Structure RPS No. 664, known as "Hastings Farmhouse" on the site held under licence by the applicant from Clare County Council

For development which will consist of the reconstruction and change of use of Hastings Farmhouse, a protected structure, formerly a thatched, earthen-walled dwelling house, for community educational use, with bicycle parking, and connection of existing sewerage. The development will include the provision of a new 28 sq.m. services building, bin store and electrical cabinet adjacent

To construct a detached toilet block facility on site for the use in association with the existing Chapel & Crematorium services and all ancillary site works

To extend the site boundary of existing site to incorporate 25 additional car parking spaces together with ancillary site works at Shannon Crematorium
